Normally closed on Monday and Tuesdays.

 

Shepherd's Inn closed for guests visiting State Prisons due to special events..the prisons should be open but Shepherd's Inn will be closed for security reasons March 14 - 18th    Guest may still stay at Shepherd's Inn who desire to visit the Federal Prisons

You may  make your reservation up to four weeks in advance. Please make your reservation at least one week in advance. Be sure to check the prison status regarding lockdowns at the last minute before you make your trip. 

 

Driving from North Texas (Dallas Fort Worth area):
Take I-45 from Dallas or 287 South from Fort Worth (which will run into I-45 at Ennis).  At Corsicana, TX take Hwy 287 South (Palestine Exit).  Follow 287 to Beaumont, TX.  (You will drive through Palestine, Crockett, Groveton, Woodville). In Beaumont stay on Hwy 287-96-69 South.  This will take you briefly on I-10 West but take the Hwy 287 (69-96) Exit to Port Arthur. (Exit # 849 off of I-10).   Very soon after leaving I-10 you will exit on Spur 93.  There will be signs for the Federal prisons (same exit).  Exit on Spur 93  and then turn right on Spur 93.  You will drive pass the traffic light for the state prisons and the traffic light for the Federal prison entrance until you reach a traffic light at Hwy 365.  There is an Exxon and Sonic located at this intersection.  Turn right on Hwy 365 and then immediately turn left on the first street to the left.  There will be blue self storage buildings on the right...but you turn left.  Immediately turn left again (sort of a U-turn) and then immediately turn right on Garnett.  Drive to the first stop sign and turn right on 65th Street.   Drive to 2689 65th and turn right into the parking lot of Shepherd's Inn Gaspard Center.

 

If you miss your turn on Hwy 365 then go the 3rd street to the right on Spur 93 and turn right on 65th Street (Acres Grocery Store).  Go to the stop sign at Garnett and continue straight on 65th until you reach 2689 65th street.


Driving from South West Texas via Houston. 

Take I-10 from Houston to Winnie, TX.  At Winnie take Hwy 73 to Port Arthur.  Exit off of Hwy 73 at Spur 93 as you approach the City of Port Arthur (after crossing Taylor's Bayou Bridge).  Travel North on Spur 93.  You will pass a Market Basket food store and a Family Dollar store on your left.  Turn left on 65th Street at the Acres Grocery Store.  You will come to a stop sign at Garnett.  Continue straight (forward) on 65th until you come to 2689 65th Street on your right.  Turn right into the parking lot. 

 

If you miss your turn you may go to the traffic light at  Hwy 365 and spur 93.  There is an Exxon station and a Sonic at this location.  Turn left on Hwy 365 and then turn left on the first street to the left.  There will be blue self storage buildings on the right....but you turn left.  Immediately turn left again (sort of a U-turn) and then immediately turn right on Garnett street.  (large house with a pond at this intersection).  Drive to first stop sign and turn right on 65th Street.   Drive to 2689 65th and turn right.

 

Driving from South Louisiana. 

Either drive to Beaumont and pick up 269-96 - 69 South off of I-10 and follow the directions above for driving from North Texas or take the shorter route as follows:
