Generation iY, those born since 1990 is entering College.  Generation iY is typified by the ”i” world that has emerged around them: iPods, iPhones, iPads, iTunes, and for many of them life is pretty much all about ”I.”  According to Beloit’s College Mindset List, the students entering college this year have always had blue jell-o, cookie dough ice cream, and salsa has always been more popular than ketchup.  CD’s have never been from a bank.  They have always had a Social Security Number and the Soviet Union has not exited.  There has always been someone asking if “the war in Iraq is worth it?”  The Green Giant has always been Shrek not the big guy picking vegetables.  Their world is different than what we Boomers, Builders and Seniors are used to.  Their need for Christ is the same, the message of Christ is the same and power of Christ to transform lives is the same.  Relevant Ministry is like bottled water the package has changed but the content is the same.  We work hard at the BSM to Seek God, Reach Others, Teach Truth and Send Servants in a relevant way.  Thank you for support as we serve the Campuses of the Golden Triangle.

A great big welcome to our new Intern Samantha Bottoms, she is a graduate of Texas A&M.  She will be working on the Port Arthur and Orange Campuses as well as Beaumont.  She is a wonderful addition to the staff.  If you would like to send her a word of welcome and encouragement, please send it to P.O. Box 10068 Beaumont, TX 77710 or lamarbsm@hotmail.com.  She would love to hear from you.  She is also available to speak in churches, to youth groups, mission groups or Bible Study groups, just call and schedule a time from her to come.  880-2276.

We do have open dates for FREE Lunch on each campus.  Please contact us at your earliest convenience to schedule a date to provide FREE Lunch at 880-2276 or lamarbsm@hotmail.com.
