Christian Life Crisis Intervention CLCI is a direct ministry of GTBA that actually owns Shepherd’s Inn Gaspard Center and Calvary House. In addition to providing free lodging & meals to inmate families Shepherd’s Inn has been housing Disaster Recovery groups and mission teams. In fact more than 2,031 people have stayed at Shepherd’s Inn this year (an average of more than 33 people each night since January 1). Recovery groups work with Nehemiah’s Vision, South East Texas Interfaith Organization, and Rita (IKE) Disaster Recovery groups. In addition many of the groups have conducted mission projects in Bridge City, Port Arthur, and Beaumont during the summer. Recently a group from Dallas, Texas helped to conduct an inner-city revival and VBS in a Port Arthur housing project resulting in 25 professions of faith. Volunteers are needed to help at both Shepherd’s Inn and Calvary House. No experience necessary. We will train you. Opportunities to work directly with people and provide a Christian witness and encouragement exist as well as service projects.
CLCI is also involved in promoting transformation missions in highly unchurched areas with great human need. A networking meeting for pastors in Port Arthur was held in July and meetings are planned for Orange and Beaumont soon. CLCI is networking evangelical churches to work together to address human needs, start house churches, and organize Christians to reach at risk communities.Your support of GTBA, Shepherd’s Inn, Calvary House, and CLCI make these mission efforts possible. Contact Dion Ainsworth to volunteer or be part of the transformational network.
